About the Owner
I'm originally from Brazil but I've been living in Philly for about 5 years. I have a knack for marketing, entrepreneurship, and design. This is the story on how I started hosting. Ever since I learned more about the short-term rentals I started believing in its philosophy and business model. Little by little it became a dream to have a place on vacation rentals and meet people from all over the world. One morning, I woke up and found out that my grandmother's apartment was available. The last tenant got a job in other state and made sure to leave the place in a very bad shape! Everything was a mess. The floor was ruined, the walls were dark, the smell was "iuck". Awful. As an aspiring entrepreneur, I knew it was my "duty" to help my grandmother and, at the same time, fulfill a dream-slash-prove-a-point kind of thing. So, what did I do? Well, the first thing I did was a business plan. I estimated the risks of the project, thought about the financial side, of course, and verified the return of investment and the time span. Then, I spent all the money I'd earned from my internship (I was saving for something BIG) and completely renovated the apartment. From the floor to the ceiling. The walls, the furniture, decoration. Everything.Location
